Specimen Collection: Collect serum AND CSF within 8 hours of each other. Avoid contaminating CSF with blood. Centrifuge CSF at 1500xg for 20 minutes and place the supernatant into separate tubes. Ensure residual fibrin and cellular matter have been removed.
Specimen Stability: Ambient: 14 days, Refrigerated : 14 days, Frozen: 14 days
Causes for Rejection: Plasma instead of serum specimen; serum and CSF not collected within eight hours of each other; lipemic, hemolyzed, or icteric CSF specimen

Clinical Use Patients with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) have multiple, scarred areas of the brain. Symptoms can initially be mild but typically lead to relapsing or progressive incapacitating neuromotor dysfunction.
