| Instructions | Regular size applicator Copan eSwab - White Avoid skin surfaces, mouth, oral, anal, and vaginal areas which have normal anaerobic flora. Clean surface of lesions with alcohol. Fluid and tissue specimens are preferred over swab collections for optimal recovery of pathogens. Transport to the lab as soon as possible. Swab specimens should arrive within 2 days of collection. Stool and sputum specimens are not acceptable for anaerobic culture. Specimens submitted in EDTA are unacceptable for culture |
