Clinical Use Useful in the investigation of macrocytic anemia and work-up of deficiencies seen in evaluate megaloblastic and macrocytic anemias. Also used for diagnosis and investigation of some neurological disorders; and useful in detecting deficiency of folate, monitor therapy with folate; evaluate alcoholic patients; evaluate cause of increase in serum homocysteine level.
